FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers.

Short answers here; where a question touches the legal stuff, we link the page where the long version lives. If yours isn't covered, the contact page knows the way.

01 The brief

What is Off Script Wire?

A free brief on business, money, and markets — the stories that move companies, markets, and your wallet, explained in about five minutes, minus the jargon and the boredom. The longer version lives on the About page.

When does it arrive, and how long is it?

About five minutes, and we're not putting a schedule on it yet — we'd rather name a rhythm once we can keep it than promise one now and miss it. Subscribe and the first one comes to you. It's free, and every reader gets the same brief — no tiers, no early access, no "real stuff" behind a paywall.

What do you cover?

Five beats — Markets, Business, Economy, Money, and Tech — plus an evergreen Explainers library for the concepts behind the headlines.

Will there be paid products?

Maybe, later. The core brief stays free either way. If we ever add a paid tier, it'll be extra — never a wall around the news you came for.

02 Is this advice?

Is this financial advice?

No — and there's no wink after that "no." Off Script Wire is journalism and general information. Every reader gets the same brief, and nothing in it is individualized financial advice — we don't know your situation, and we never write as if we do. When we cover a company or a market, we're explaining what's happening, not telling you what to do. The full versions: Terms and Disclosures.

Can I ask what to do with my money?

You can ask, and we'll decline — kindly, every time. We explain the news; we don't tell anyone what to buy, sell, or hold. For decisions about your own finances, talk to a professional you trust. It's a feature of what we are, not rudeness — the Terms say the same thing in longhand.

03 Your data

What do you collect about me?

Your email address if you subscribe, and almost nothing else. No ad trackers, no profiles, no selling or renting your data. The complete list — it's short on purpose — is in the privacy policy.

How do I unsubscribe?

One click, from the footer of any issue, anytime — it works immediately, and we don't do the "are you sure?" gauntlet. Details in the privacy policy.

04 Who's behind it

Who writes this?

A real person, with a real name on the work — meet the masthead. We're an independent publication: nobody outside this newsroom steers what we cover. Our owner trades securities for his own account, which we disclose in full on our ownership page — and every piece naming a company says who holds a position in it. The longer story is on the About page.

How do I get in touch?

Email. The routes — reader mail, tips, advertising, press — live on the contact page. A person reads everything that comes in.
