Guessing game
Higher or Lower
One state economy's yearly output is on the table. Is the challenger bigger, or smaller? Guess right, keep going, and see how long a streak you can string together.
How to play
- One state's GDP — everything its economy produced in a year — is shown; the challenger's is hidden.
- Guess whether the challenger's is bigger (Higher) or smaller (Lower).
- Right answers extend your streak; one miss ends the run. Arrow keys work too.

Where these numbers come from. Each card shows that state’s current-dollar GDP for 2025 — everything its economy produced that year — as published by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis in Gross Domestic Product by State, table SAGDP1, row “Current-dollar GDP (millions of current dollars)”. Released April 9, 2026; retrieved 2026-08-22. All 51 figures come from that one release, so every matchup compares the same measure in the same year. BEA statistics are public domain. The cards round for display; the game compares the exact published values. It is a game — not investment advice.
Curious how the economy actually adds up? That's the brief's whole job.
